I wanted this for hiking and local trips. My morning smoothies are frozen sliced bananas, frozen raspberries, cocoa powder, spinach, a scoop of plain yogurt, and some coconut milk. This little blender does a great job of making a thick chocolate smoothie out of it. I've had it for a week now and after the first charge it did four shakes without needing to be charged. When fully charged, three blue indicators will light up. After four days of smoothie preparation, there is now only one lamp left. There is only an on/off switch on the front of the mixer. Press the button once and the blue lights will give you an approximate indication of how much battery is charged, press again to start the blender. A third press of the same button turns the mixer off. I am very happy with it. It's compact, easy to clean, charges in hours via a USB cable, and has no trouble with a (sliced) frozen banana.
