After reading all the various information about pulp valves, I was skeptical about using them. I had to check the freon in the fridge as the temp was too low. fine sandpaper, cleaned with fine steel wool. Cleaned with brake cleaner. Added gasket cover on the inside of the valve and tightened the valve in line. Be sure to rotate the tightening sequence until all three mandrels are tight. Turned the punch rod into a line. I connected a pressure gauge to the line and unscrewed the valve 2 turns. Success! there is a vacuum, freon is added. The fridge started getting cold. I've had it for over a week with no loss.
