I needed another set of XLR cables after buying a set of Martin Logal ESL X speakers, which can (and seem to need to) be bi-directional, my latest speakers (Wilson Audia Sophia) allowed and did not need a two-channel amplifier. I have many other very good cables (mainly Analysis Plus Solo Crystal Oval, Micro Oval and Silver Oval In, RCA) but right now I don't want to spend a lot of money on another one in XLR. I tried connecting the RCA and XLR connectors (different channels) from the preamp to the amp but it didn't work! Noise abounds. ;-/ Well, to the best cables. Got them for free from Revain 2 days later (amazing) and installed them straight away. Only to find that they had very good resolution but were quite bright (remember they are brand new and not "broken in" at all). I used them from 2 channels of my Parasound Halo to the ESL speaker panel (mid/treble) and 2 channels to Analysis Plus Solo Crystal Oval and Solo Oval 8 for bass. The sound is good but overall bright. I decided to switch the upper and lower channels and viola! The sound was great! So before the break-in, they'll have a decent amount of time powering my ML ESL X's bass modules. On the other hand, the ML ESL X is amazing at 400 watts/channel to the top and bottom drivers (800 watts)! :) I think the quality and sound for this money is amazing. Once they run for a while I'll try going back to the ESL panels to see if the copper/silver hybrid improves the sound over the copper colored AP Solo Crystal Oval XLRs. Keep for updates. Well done, the best cables!
