My husband installed them on his 2009 F-250 Crew Cab in the first position. Removing the original OEM mounts was pathetic. Front mounts are notorious for sticking and needing to be cut out to remove. And indeed him too. My husband found a tutorial online that said the headlight assembly could be removed to access the cage nut in the truck frame. It is true. DO NOT HIT THE MOUNTING SCREWS. Only use hand tools for removal and installation. A 7/8" wrench was used on the cage nut, but it still turned when torque was applied to the pry bar. The screw stuck to the nut. He had to cut it out and replace the clip with the new one that came with this kit. He used a saber saw to cut through the cab's bottom bracket and then drove the remaining bolt up and through the cage holding the nut. Fishing the old bolt out through the mangled cage wasn't easy. Remove the headlight assembly to complete this procedure. While removing the old Ford OEM cab mounts was pathetic, installing the new mounts was fairly easy. These new brackets (2 per position) restored the ride and handling of OEM trucks. The cockpit mounts are noiseless — no squeaks — though he coated them with silicone grease in hopes of keeping them safe in the Texas heat. He also applied thread protectant to the new bolts to prevent galling and seizing. The bolts were tightened to the recommended torque of 86 ft/lb.
