Review on HP 2711X 27 Inch LED Monitor: Height & Tilt Adjustment, Plus 3D Capability by Cliff Mathis

Revainrating 4 out of 5

This is "Keeper ".

I've used comparable Viewsonic, Samsung and Acer and this HP 2711x beats them all. Long-term text legibility is extremely important to me, and while HP doesn't even come close to NEC, it's certainly better than the others mentioned. Extremely light. The difference was like "day and night" compared to my 24" NEC Multisync LCD. While there's no comparison to NEC's excellent text rendering, it's not too bad, especially after I've adjusted the text size, fonts, etc. Graphics: Still working on it. Display looks washed out (compared to the NEC) but maybe this will get better with further tweaks. Huge price difference though! You really do get what you pay for and with my other health concerns I can tell new large NEC display just can't afford it anymore. A 4 year old NEC comes with my "old" computer for an extra desk. I think this HP is the best alternative (larger screen size makes text a bit blurry to read.)* ************************************************** ** **************************** **** **************** ********* ******************** ****** ************* UPDATE: The video is ok but this device just does NOT meet my specific needs for very clear text. I should have bought the best - NEC Multisync PA271W: NEC PA271w-bk 2 7 inch widescreen LCD monitor with a resolution of 2560 x 1440, 1000:1, 6ms

Pros
  • electronics
Cons
  • Poor connection: If the monitor is not properly connected to the computer, the image may not appear or may be distorted.
