These suck, but not in a good way!

This wouldn't stick at all to either side of the granite countertops that I was joining. Either one side would stick, for a short period of time, or not at all. I checked, diligently, to make sure that the granite didn't have micro cracks or any dust particles that would prevent a vacuum in the cups, and even put other suction cups on the surface area that I was using and they worked fine and had plenty of suction. However. This setter didn't hold a vacuum.I don't know if it is the added suction pumps on the side that allowed air to come in, but there was definitely a leak.I had to return them. Unfortunately, I had already applied epoxy to the countertop before applying the setters. Even though I HAD checked beforehand to see if the cups would "suck" but too briefly. If I had kept them on for only a minute I would have seen that the suction wouldn't last for any longer than about 10 seconds. And we need the suction to last at least 30 minutes. So.I don't know what to use in the future, but my faith in these has been compromised.I'm relieved that as a tile setter for over 25 years I've only done bathroom sink cut-outs and other, over-piece counters. I don't look forward to trying this in the future and will no doubt contact out this work in the future. (Which I have done on many occasions for kitchen work)Good luck to anyone who needs to do this work. It's a pain in the *** to lay slab in a kitchen!Lol
