I bought the 2TB version of Elements 5 years ago, used it to back up my files, and then removed it. Last week when I was stalking him he was dead. 5 years ago he worked maybe 5 hours. Against my better judgment, believing it was 5 years ago, I bought one of these. I've spent a few hours every day for the past 3 days backing up data to this new drive. Today it makes the same clicks as the previous one. He's dead. Edit: There are replacements. I started backing up 200 gigs. Started clicking in about 15 minutes and copying stopped. I've learned my lesson, cheap as they are, WD drives aren't for me anymore.
