Review on Android 10 Car Navigation Stereo Multimedia Player IPS 2.5D Touch Screen GPS Radio for BMW X3 2006-2010 by Juan Gomez

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Nearly; but not exactly!

I advise everyone not to waste time on this device. Installed in X3 2008, looks good, music sounds good, display is nice and responsive. The Bluetooth microphone built into the device is nonsense. Otherwise I might have lived with other quirks. You need an FM antenna adapter for the radio to work. I installed this without an antenna and adapter and only got noise on the radio. Adapter installed and the radio works perfectly. It doesn't show the radio station name or song information. The factory CD player no longer works. The volume control on the factory radio doesn't work either. My car came with an Aux connection from the factory, so everything was plug and play except for the radio antenna. I could live with that, but the bluetooth mic sounds like crap on day 5 - sounded good for the first few days. A warning to other X3 owners: Watch lots of YouTube videos on installation; But be careful what kind of radio you buy. 9-inch and 8-inch models come with canbus - and you'll need to go into settings to map the steering wheel functions. They will work, it is enough to make a few clicks on the radio. You can store the volume up/down on the steering wheel, next track forward/backward. If you buy more expensive models with a 10-inch screen, you can apparently keep the factory radio functions and the CD player. The wiring harnesses between them are slightly different, so be careful when looking at the reviews. You'll have better luck making calls with a Bluetooth mic Ali websites have models at lower prices if you're willing to put up with the 3 week wait/delivery time.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
