Different shaped brushes may have been supplied in the past but the product I received is rectangular and identical to the original (see photo). It fits perfectly in a vacuum cleaner mount for him, but is made of a more flexible plastic that feels nice. If you don't like this flexibility, you can simply pull the brush material out of the new brush body on the metal ring and insert it into the old plastic body, if available. I've done this and it's a lot tighter in the old case (needs a screwdriver to press it in place). If you like the new flexible body, you can easily fix the brush material with an adhesive that adheres well to plastic.
