$1,600 Fried Projector

The product actually worked for me as it ran a 40ft cable to my projector for about a week. Last night during most of the movie the video dropped, the receiver shut down and ran a self-diagnostic on all speaker connections (everything was fine) but no more video came to the projector. An hour later, another TV found that the HDMI 1 port on my $1600 Epson 3800 projector was not working. The receiver is on a backup UPS so it can't be on that side, maybe the projector had a power surge right? Ran the setup with HDMI 2.0 for about 20 minutes today and this time the screen went black but the sound is still there. Yes, the second port is a toast without theatrics. The device has been in excellent condition for several months and is now in use in a short period of time. It could be something in the projector but I think something here is causing it. All of this without using the included power supply, which I believe could be the cause of the over-voltage/damage, but that's not possible here.
