Review on ThermoPro Wireless Digital Cooking Thermometer by Andy Ucros

Accurate probe but needs some work!

I bought this to use for smoking meat in my Weber kettle. It works quite well, but there are some things that could be improved. First, the probes are too long. When smoking I use Slow and Sear and there just isn't enough room for long probes and a fairly large chunk of meat. It is virtually impossible to keep the thermo wires from getting too close to hot coals. Second, there must be a bracket to mount the probe so that it is parallel to the gratings. Sometimes you just need to point the sensor in that direction to save space. Third, separate alarms for each probe would be nice. Fourth, it is not easy to use. I may have a problem, but half the time I can't get the temperature programming to work unless I try a few times. Fifth, I would like more detailed instructions.

Pros
  • I'll keep my fingers crossed
Cons
  • Good for the most part, but...
