After fitting the poles I didn't have the opportunity to ride late at night when I needed the bike to be visible . However, I tried turning off the lights in the garage and using a flash or phone screen lights to see how reflective these sticks could be. It really depends on how strong the original lights are, and car lights can only be stronger than phone lights. With these reflective poles I don't worry too much about riding at night if needed, but I still prefer the day just to be safer. They're also quite tight on the bike, which shouldn't prevent others from taking them.
