Review on ASUS VY279HE Adaptive Sync Augmentation Antibacterial 1920X1080P: Experience Enhanced Eye Care and Visual Quality with HDMI, Blue Light Filter, and HD LED by Stayce Underwood

Monitor menu bar temperature 102.9*F

It's possible I caught a broken monitor because the bezel in the lower left corner where the menu buttons are next to the power button is very hot at 102.9*F. I've had LG, Samsung and Hanspree monitors and none of them had such hot menu buttons on the monitor. But this Asus monitor gets so hot in the menu button area that you can't keep your hand there for 8 seconds. It doesn't make sense why Asus made that part of the front panel menu so hot and not somewhere else off the menu bar. The menu bar is so hot that you need a grip to navigate the menus on the monitor. I think I can replace the monitor. Even on Asus demo monitors that you can buy at the best price, there is no hot menu button. Asus makes good mobile devices, graphics cards, and sound cards, but the monitors they make have poor quality control. I would advise anyone looking to buy this monitor to look at LG or Samsung monitors. Avoid Asus monitors as you will end up replacing them due to poor quality control. There should be a loose contact with the "Brightness" function. When you press the up button, the brightness menu should appear on the screen, but it doesn't for me. The volume/down button has both functions. Waiting for monitor replacement. ***Updated July 22, 2014*** I received a replacement monitor and I am pleased to report that the menu button is not hot. It's a little warm but not piping hot like the one I returned. The temperature above the menu button is 98*F, which is much colder. The one I returned peaked at 107.9*F on the menu button and started flickering.
