These pedals are great at $30. I rode it 1300 miles last year (my new road bike), not a single problem. I just lubed the pivot points with bike chain lube and wiped them clean. You have to give up your machines if you expect them to work, yes it's a machine!. Today I'm buying another pair for my wife's new bike. Clip I/O operations are very reliable, there have never been any problems. I actually have the same pedals on my triathlon bike and I've done a full ironman and 2 half ironmans and they've held up great! No need to spend hundreds on fancy pedals and shoes.
