Cardboard Home Theater Pretend Play

I'm obsessed with this game right now! I bought it in real life and soon after on Steam. The more I play the game, the more it seems to me that they managed to create a classic RPG (in the video game sense) in a map format. It's like an old-school coop cardboard version of Final Fantasy: you have heroes, enemies, hitpoints, attackpoints, you use abilities each turn, you get stronger over time, and you work together to defeat the boss. The different characters are great, each one is unique and interesting, and each has their own game mechanics and cards that combine in different ways. Regardless of your playstyle, you'll find plenty of fun characters to play with. Heroes, villains, and the environment come together to create literally hundreds of variations to keep the game on track. You can adjust the relative difficulty by playing with fewer heroes, and then there's an advanced mode if you really want to challenge (die) yourself. Don't be put off by the comic book theme. I'm not a fan of comics or superheroes, in fact I'm fed up with superheroes in the media at this point. This led to me avoiding Sentinels for a long time, despite hearing good things about the game. But superheroes are for artistic and thematic purposes only, like I said, it's like a classic RPG, and to my surprise, the more I played, the more I found myself drawn to the character and the design.
