I bought this just over a month ago to expand my set from 5 to 8 phones. I received the original system in November 2010, so I was already familiar with it. Follow the simple instructions to register after each initial charge of 16 hours or more (overnight) and you'll be up and running in no time. Registering each handset took just 5 seconds. These things are lightweight but easily damaged, for example if they fall on a counter or table. The battery lasts a very long time. I talked for 1.5 hours and the battery icon didn't even drop a bar! The sound quality is great and I love the 50 number catalogue. Once you understand how name editing works (which keys to move the cursor or how to backspace/delete or type a space), entering a phone number into the directory will be very easy. I wear hearing aids that come out when I get home from work, but my phone volume is VERY loud for me. The speakerphone is clear and distortion-free, and each handset can stand on a flat surface. Ideal for continuing to work during the conversation in the house or in the kitchen. The other person can hear you if you speak from a distance of 1.5 to 1.8 m, so the microphone is good; no reason to scream. All in all a really good phone. I have had 3 wireless systems in this large house in the last 11 years and this is the best yet. I have a wireless router and close neighbors and have never had any interference or static. By the way, each phone can call a separate phone. So if pipe #8 is in the basement, kitchen pipe #1 can directly call pipe #8 and speak quickly. And one important feature that wasn't on the feature list; When dialing a number, it works like a mobile phone. Just start typing numbers and if you make a mistake, press backspace and correct it before hitting the "phone" icon to dial. My previous phone had to end the call, then ring and try again when I dialed the wrong number. Finally, you can check messages from any of the 8 phones and an envelope icon will appear if you have voicemail. This is a great phone system and Revain had the best price.
