Review on Premium Primula Stainless Steel Stovetop Espresso and Coffee Maker, 6 Cup, Wood Handle - Effortlessly brew rich coffee at home! by Elizabeth Edwards

Too hot for kitchen and dining room

I grew up with Turkish coffee and was very sad that I reluctantly entered the scene with coffee capsules. A friend tried to save me by sending me freshly roasted coffee, which I used in a reusable capsule. When the capsule fell apart I had coffee and no way to make it, so I resorted to the tried and true method of boiling water in a pot on the stove. I was immediately reminded how delicious coffee can taste and what I was missing. I ordered a "Primula Stainless Steel Espresso & Coffee Maker 6 Cup Mokapot, Wooden Handle" Mokapot to salvage what dignity I might have left. I prefer natural objects so I'm leaning towards this choice of wood and stainless steel, which unfortunately tells me that the wooden pencil is actually largely silicone (my pencil was discolored and cracked) while the steel is just magnetic (martensite) on the lid and kettle section, while the entire middle section of the kettle does not attract a magnet (austenite), causing the composite alloy to reflect, increasing the likelihood of nickel and chromium leaching. It is easy to clean and quickly prepares a cup of tea. But the ultra-low gas flame that didn't even touch the pot still heats the handle too much. It just doesn't seem safe. It's back for me now, but at least I'm pod-free.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Minor issues
