Rebel Quilter Bucking the Ott Lite Mold

UPDATE 01/10/2021: My little flame is still lit! Love it! UPDATE 1/1/2019: Still valid. I finally broke down and bought an Ott floor lamp with a lighted magnifying glass (also has a pattern clip) for my hand quilting. NO cheap light unless you have Joanne's gift cards for a few years and a 50% off coupon. Which I did (the $300 lamp cost me $49 plus change). I only got it because of the lighted magnifying glass. It is excellent for hand quilting. 👉🏼 I would NEVER pay for that immediately. Now that I have two side-by-side lamps, they are both great and serve two very different purposes in my sewing workshop. I still have that $24 lamp on my ironing board and ott next to the floor ring. And the $24 lamp still works just like the day I took it out of the box. UPDATE 09/06/2017: Two days to a year and this little gem is still working. No problem and the light is still as good as the first day. I used it almost every day. Still the best value for money. love this little light! :)*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+* Originally I was looking for Ott lite - Quilter's darling . Ott takes great pride in their product and counts heavily on the loyalty of quilters (or other crafters). I understand. It's my own fault. In this case, however, I wasn't willing to pay the price for that loyalty. So I chose this stone. I figured I couldn't lose for $24. I could always return it if I didn't like it. I've been working on a Cathedral Windows quilt (an unconventional block-making technique) that requires a lot of ironing and folding (wash, rinse, repeat). The success of blocks depends on precise folds. I had a lot of trouble with natural daylight and incandescent lights from above. Enormous strain on the eyes. Hence the search for better lighting. Received it today, tied to an ironing board (to keep it from falling) and plugged into an outlet. Doesn't matter! Even during the day! I can't believe I waited so long to do this. I think I did the same thing as Ott but at a much lower price! I am deeply impressed. Even if the light lasts two years, I can continue to buy this lamp for the next eight years and get out right away. Excellent return. With the money saved you can buy more fabric. And I'm always for it! :) UPDATE: I saw where someone asked if the lamp is adjustable other than the lamp mount. Yes, that's right! Just gently grab the light bar and rotate it away from you or towards you as needed!
