Wanting to try out my new butter dish before our big family Christmas Eve dinner, I placed a fresh stick of SALT butter (salted butter is the key to freshness) on a plate and covered it with a heavy bamboo lid. to protect it and install it on our counter. I checked every day and the oil looked so fresh as if I had just applied it. On Christmas Eve our whole family came from the Christmas Eve service and we sat down for dinner of chicken noodles and homemade rolls. I put in softened butter (from a butter dish) and it went quickly. Everyone raved about how much they prefer softened butter to the cold jar I usually pull out of the fridge. The superb quality of this buttered dish makes it perfect for family dinners for years to come.
