I had damage to the outside of two wooden window frames because a squirrel was chewing on the wood and trying to get inside. This product worked very well to repair the damage. The set is very complete and the instructions are easy to follow. A few notes: PC-Petrifier is a very watery liquid, so it tends to spread and leave small marks (once dry) if it gets on undamaged wood. . I didn't notice these marks after the final sanding, however, but don't let it slide over wood you won't be polishing. The Petrifier is water based so you can wash and reuse the small flux brush that comes with the kit. The two part epoxy was easy to mix since the two parts are two different colors and you keep mixing until you get a uniform mixture. . The result is the consistency of gooey peanut butter. If you can imagine applying gooey peanut butter to damaged wood, getting a smooth, even finish isn't easy. When repairing deep or extensive damage, schedule multiple applications (I spaced them out a day so you can heal) rather than trying to do everything at once. The first application can be to simply apply the epoxy to all the nooks and crannies so that it adheres well, which will require some pressure with a spatula. Even in the final application it will be difficult to achieve a very smooth and even surface. So plan on sanding after final curing. BTW, if you plan to reuse the included mixing board, use a paper towel to wipe off the epoxy before it cures and the board will remain almost like new. You can even delete and reuse the mixing stick. I used Surform for the rough sanding and regular sandpaper for the final sanding. I have to say I have a carbide grit surform tool which is very aggressive and still needs some work to get rid of the bumps and ripples in the cured putty. It wasn't an excessive amount of work, but it did require some "elbow grease". When I finished sanding, I saw a few small voids on the surface that I missed when I applied the final putty. This is a good place to use another epoxy from the kit, a tube of putty. Pinch off some putty, knead well to mix (wear latex gloves) and apply to any gaps to fill in mistakes. The cured epoxy holds the paint well and when I was done the repair looked great!
