I used to have a bun device but it hurt. Hair had to be threaded through the slit, twisted, etc. My daughter's hair was also too thin for this. We wanted to try these. Very simple instructions. Make a ponytail, start at the bottom, twist it and add loose strands as you go. Connect and then add a ribbon, move the hair in a circle. While doing this for my daughter's hair, I clicked and moved her hair in a circle and then added the hair tie. It helped to pull up some of the hair at the bottom that came loose when I moved her hair. The bun is soft but a little prickly. Looks like a mix of the rough and soft sides of the velcro. It didn't hurt at all, especially when it was removed. It is available in 2 sizes depending on the hair length. Although she is brown blonde, I ordered brown and it wasn't noticeable at all. Now she has the perfect Cinderella look and it will help her avoid "No, I don't want my hair done" moments. :)
