I love these Omnigrid foldable work mats and iron tops. This is my third, only second in size. Use flat ONLY, do not fold the cutting mat behind the surface of the iron and the iron, this will deform and ruin the cutting surface. So I just bought a new one. Also, do not store or keep it in a hot car near a window, as this may cause deformation of the side surface of the cutting mat. Other than my operator's mistake which ruined my first one, I highly recommend the 12" x 18". I rarely use the little one. I can crop footage to a large format which gives it the versatility I need and it lends itself well to retreats or classes.
