Review on πŸ”§ Enhanced Performance Monotube Lowering Kit by Progressive Suspension, Model 31-2501 by Christopher Isaac

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Progressive monotube kit.

Not satisfied with the standard ride on my '08 Harley Street Glide, I ended my research with this kit. I ordered a "downgrade" version. It was pretty easy to install and all you had to do was take things apart and put them back together. I used the service manual and the internet. The configuration of the springs and spacers used depends on the weight to get the correct preset. I didn't want to do this job twice to make adjustments. I read and read. So, I'll give you the benefit of my research - at least a starting point when trying to figure out your settings. My height is 5 feet 7 inches. I weigh 200 pounds. The bike had standard forks and rear air shocks. Too hard. I went for Progressive 944 shocks (adjusted for no preset - (read instructions). On the front set I used a 'long' spring and 2 black washers on top which gave about 1" of sag at the top and the front dropped the end down (btw it also lowered the windshield an inch and made the handlebars a lot more comfortable too.) The ride is great - felt smooth straight away The front end is lowered an inch, followed by an inch lower rear end to match from the factory.) Overall, this was the best decision I've made to make my bike "better than the factory". It was worth the time and a few tools Drive like invisible, not invincible.
