Waveshare Custom Screen

Great little screen. Almost returned. I burned the image from a CD and Viola added a nice note and that was it. It seems that you need to specify 4 lines in the /boot/config.txt file for it to run. My other 2 also work for me just by adding the rows. (A sample config.txt file is included on the CD). I had problems with Xbian, OSMC and KODI. still trying. It goes blank after loading Kodi screen or junk. I think it has to do with strength. I'll see if externally powered USB helps as the USB PI only goes up to 500mah. Almost back to Revane, glad I reconsidered. This is my third monitor since the Adafruit and Makefire monitors failed. There is also a wiki with tips. Not a bad monitor. It should have more instructions, which prevents me from giving it five stars. I returned it for a little help from the folks at Waveshare. I couldn't play the video. I bought a non-IPS display with dual power inputs at 800x480 and this works better. The touch function is better (the icons are bigger) and the videos work because I added more options to the config.txt file. I think the most important thing is to add hdmi_driver=2 and not 1 like I had. Perhaps this screen also plays videos. The new screen also allows me to run KODI. I think 800x480 can work faster.
