Suction cups will not stick to kayak. I don't want to drill or use 3M tape (I don't think it's real 3M tape at all). So the suction cups were a big plus for me. When I received the item, there were no instructions with it. The packaging has wording with many grammatical errors. The suction cups were placed against the clean surface of the kayak.
