I rarely write negative reviews, especially strong ones, but I have to be honest about this product. It is absolutely not what I expected and does not live up to expectations at all. It really looks like something I could buy from 5 Below and if I paid $10 for it I might be happy, but $40 is crazy for this tiny little thing. It's very small, and while the name says it's a "bedroom air purifier," the packaging clearly says it's a "desktop air purifier," and that's definitely all it's good for is. It can't even filter out a room. What I don't like is the fan performance. It's absolutely pathetic. My old laptop has fans that hum louder and push more air than this thing. And that's the main problem - even if this thing could theoretically filter the air in the room, it could never touch all the air in the room. It pushes the air out a little over an inch so it doesn't collect all the air in the room and push it back into the room, it just collects the same air it pushes out and filters the same tiny patch of air over and over again. again. It needs a triple power fan to filter at least one room. So, here's what I can say for sure. If you want to filter air around the surface of a single table or directly in a small bladder, this will probably filter about 3 cubic feet of air fairly well. I can't tell if the filter is a true HEPA filter, but it seems decent. Of course it's not completely tight, but it looks neat. And the sound is a definite plus - a quiet whisper, and in night mode it's almost silent. Of course, that means there's almost no hum from the fan, but if sound is a concern, it's very quiet. One last thing, if you are purchasing this item, make sure you open it first and remove the plastic filter. the bag it comes in - don't know why it's not ready to go out of the box. Sorry for the terrible rating! I feel really bad for rating this so low. But I just can't sit here and let people think it's worth $40. At best, this is a product 5 below.
