Review on Goldwood Sound GW-6028 6.5" Woofer with Rubber Surround - 170 Watts, 8ohm Replacement Speaker by Alex Maynard

I have built a set of quality towers using these speakers and they have not disappointed. At first I was concerned that they would lack the necessary bass as they were intended to be used solely as subwoofers, but they did. I have them in a 3-way configuration with an 800Hz crossover. All they do is bass and some very deep vocals. They do that well too. They can shake my windows. Of course they do have a limit, they're only 6.5 inches, so you can't turn them up as loud as a 10-inch or 12-inch subwoofer and expect them not to start distorting. Still they can be very loud with heavy bass unless you plan to play them in large halls or venues they are more than enough at home. The sound can be rated very low at 29Hz and I have no doubt it is very low and they had no problem producing deep bass at high volumes. Bass is also tight, punchy and precise without being over the top. $80
