Goldwood Sound GW-6028 6.5" Woofer with Rubber Surround - 170 Watts, 8ohm Replacement Speaker Review

I needed to replace a 6 1/2" speaker so I ordered this one. It's 6 5/8" round and won't fit. So if you're just putting it on a flat surface and not paying attention install it in a recessed area this might work. When I realized it wouldn't fit I did it. I've never plugged in a speaker so I have no idea how it sounds.

This was a replacement subwoofer for a Sony home entertainment system. The rest of the system was fine, but I broke the subwoofer. I disassembled the subwoofer enclosure and replaced the blown subwoofer with a Goldwood subwoofer. After a few adjustments to the internal system settings, I went gold. It worked great and the system never sounded better! Excellent purchase! Very happy with my purchase!

The speaker has a flaw in the middle, if you will, as shown in the photo. Hopefully this doesn't affect the sound over time. At the moment everything is fine, the sound quality is satisfactory. The holes matched perfectly with the speaker box I used. I don't think it's bad for the money. In the Q&A there was a question about negative and positive links. Used these to replace the woofers in my old school Infinity speakers. Great speakers for the price. Runs old school JVC at 55W RMS. Excellent low and mid frequencies. Good replacement for 'Klipsch ProMedia 2.1' woofer Mounted with 4 original screws and aligned holes. The GW-6028 didn't include a gasket between the speaker and the box, but I managed to salvage the gasket from the original speaker, which fitted perfectly. The "negative" connector on the speaker is larger than the original, so I just cut the factory outlet off the Klipsch loom and plugged in the standard connector. No complaints. I bought this to replace a burned out Polk woofer from my soundbar surround system. Cheaper than replacing a whole unit and all reviews said this speaker performed better than standard woofers in similar surround sound systems. The packaging wasn't damaged, but the speaker itself was bent and warped to the point of impossibility. Sounds like very poor quality

I have built a set of quality towers using these speakers and they have not disappointed. At first I was concerned that they would lack the necessary bass as they were intended to be used solely as subwoofers, but they did. I have them in a 3-way configuration with an 800Hz crossover. All they do is bass and some very deep vocals. They do that well too. They can shake my windows. Of course they do have a limit, they're only 6.5 inches, so you can't turn them up as loud as a 10-inch or 12-inch…
