Review on DAMA Inflatable Fishing Backpack Floating by Anthony Record

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Funny, multifunctional and inferior stable bags.

My daughter got one as a gift and she loved it so we bought another one. Then the pump went on sale, so we bought one too. The kids love them and my 9 year old and 12 year old can ride me and my wife easily. When inflated they are strong and strong with high primary stability. The boards themselves don't seem to leak at all and I liked that they come with a dry bag and dry phone bag, as well as D-rings on the sides, a two stage pump and a carry strap. as options for standing and crouching 2-way paddles. When inflated to 12psi they are enough on a Saturday to keep my daughter who weighs about 110 pounds centered when standing over the truck ladder rack with little to no flex. One of the two boards looks very hastily assembled and there is glue on it and many seams are not cleaned. So if that bothers you, it could be a problem as the glue never seems to have peeled off and has brown spots all over it. One of them looks like a lot more time was spent peeling off the glue during the assembly process. We've used them a few times and they both feel pretty stiff and hold air through the night. My biggest offense is the bag. The straps weren't assembled properly so in both of the bags we have for our boards the straps frayed and the strap just fell off as it unraveled. I have a feeling this is the difference between cutting the webbing with scissors and using a heating knife to melt the webbing and not fray it. Unfortunately, this does not apply to our bags. I hope the company makes this improvement in the process because we are 0 for 2. Inflating them is another part of the usability equation. I think it's a good arm workout but my 9 year old doesn't weigh enough at all to do the job and it takes about 10 minutes which feels like more because of the burning. Call it a warm up. While riding them I noticed that because they are so light and sit so high on the water they seem very exposed to the wind. I assume this will be the case with most inflatable SUPs. With the electric pump, inflating and folding just got a lot easier. Update: contacted customer service about the bags. They sent me 2 more bags and one of them had the strap come loose with a very slight pull. There is a clear problem with thermal cutting when the webbing is going too fast to melt the material. So out of the 4 packages I received, 3 were defective. I contacted support and they said they would send me another one but they are currently out of stock. (I wonder why). I will say that the customer service is really responsive and seems willing to make things right. Here's an unexpected problem that annoys me. I was contacted by a person whose name was a mix of consonants I didn't even know were combined in any distinguishable form, with random vowels thrown in for correct measure, and an email that happily read the translator software, which basically indicated Partial refund if I removed this review. Hmmm, please, get up really thin shade? I let them know that personally I think offering me money to have a fair review removed was a bit sneaky. It was almost enough to lower my rating even further, just as a matter of principle. I told them that as someone who uses reviews to inform their purchases, I will update my review depending on their services, but I will not delete them at any cost. Surprisingly, there was still no response to my suggestion that making good products and providing good customer service is a better business plan than bribing reviewers. No answer so far...😳
