Good price for a well known brand

Good price for a well known brand. I just don't understand why the replacement part that sits in the middle of the exhaust system isn't the extra length. Factory exhaust was brewed. I cut it right at the exit of the resonator. The dimensions of the tube matched but there was no extra length so I had to add an extra piece of tube for something to clamp on. I assume for some reason all parts of the exhaust system are positioned like this, so what are you going to do?
