Our fan is controlled by a Lutron dimmer and has started behaving erratically and vibrating. The dimmer checked, so most likely the capacitor failed. I turned off the power, opened up the compartment under the fan that houses the circuit switch, cut 5 wires to the old capacitor and connected the new one with small nuts. The fan repair was easy, pun intended. Works like new. I didn't even have to remove the fan. Done in 10 minutes.
