I used these to attach the L shaped tubular steel legs of a polythene (tarpaulin like) garage. A few years ago the space used was a gravel lot, now with mud mixed into the top 3-4 inches of the surface. I placed 2 of these (1 on each side of the 4 "L" corners and then ran wire between them at each corner. The stakes, including the set, had 1 large span? (like multiple "spans" on many dogs with attachment devices and would not penetrating the ground in any way. There have been several days with wind gusts up to 35-40mph and no problems so far.
