Review on πŸ”§ Convenient Hands-Free Dosing: MATOW 54mm Funnel with Grinder Trigger for Breville Portafilters by Monica Woods

Revainrating 5 out of 5

You don't want him holding on.

ADVANTAGES: β€’ Fits Breville Barista Pro BES878 β€’ Reduced coffee waste β€’ Hands-free operation of the grinder CONS: β€’ A bit expensive for its features β€’ Needs to be removed to use some tampers or dispensing tools. The block I received was well made and fits my portafilter. At first I thought it was too loose and on the advice of some I bent some of the pins to fit snugly against the walls of the portafilter. When I tried to remove the funnel it caught on the edge of the filter basket and popped out with the funnel. I bent back the pins to allow the funnel to be easily inserted and removed. Then I noticed that the protrusions on the portafilter had one end that was thicker than the other. After attaching the funnel to the portafilter, I bent the pins up a few millimeters to narrow the slot where the portafilter lugs fit into the funnel's grooves. The funnel is now loose enough to rotate easily and you will feel a slight click and snap as the pins pass the thick end of the portafilter tabs. This will ensure that the funnel does not accidentally slip off. The hopper controls the mill switch without any problems. And as some have said if you don't hold the portafilter in place it can vibrate a bit but with the prong modification it won't fall off. It was money well spent for almost zero grind in the drip tray. I recommend this product and expect it to last longer than a machine.
