Review on Optical Cerium Windshield Binocular Scratches by Chris Thrower

SUMMARY: Causes mess and takes time, but WORKS VERY WELL at removing light scratches and hard water stains on glass. EXPLANATION: My renters have never cleaned or salted the water softener. This left me with horrible hard water stains on my glass shower doors. I tried every cleaning product to get rid of the stains. I even tried 5000 grit sandpaper (it worked, but it took a long time and left light scratches). A friend recommended a lightly abrasive cleaner (I won't name the name) that removed hard water stains but left VERY visible but light scratches on the glass (thankfully I only used it on a 1ft area). At this point I focused on getting rid of the scratches, which looked a lot worse than the hard water stains. After some research I found some videos showing people removing scratches with cerium oxide. I decided to give it a try as I had messed up my shower doors quite a bit by that point. Using a cordless drill and a 3-inch felt tip, I worked on the scratched area for about 30 minutes. a mess, but IT WORKS, the scratches are gone! Now that the biggest problem was solved I moved on to the hard water stains. This worked great, actually much easier (takes less time) to buff the hard water stains longer than buffing stains. Overall I am very satisfied. I almost gave up trying to fix the shower door. If it weren't for the scratches left by the previous cleaner, I would never have looked for (and found) cerium oxide. To show you what it does with hard water stains, I took a series of photos (attached). Note the hard water stains under the word "TO". It took less than 5 minutes to polish them. t specific area), but I hope you can see that it looks much better now. Too bad I couldn't find cerium oxide a few months ago, it would have saved a lot of frustration and wasted time. I hope you find the same success.
