Experienced Knitters Know Best

Experienced knitters know to avoid this product. As a beginner I naively thought I could use this as a starting point for knitting in the round. However. I quickly realized that almost all types of hats require knitting needles with a difference of 2 sizes. There are size 6 and size 7 in the set, so you need to buy another set of needles to knit the hat. Also, the included cables (40" and 16") are unusual sizes, making it difficult to find a project that uses both lengths (yes, you can adjust them and make them work if needed, but that's impractical). The point where the needle connects to the line constantly catches the loops and prevents them from sliding smoothly down the line, and although the needle was tightened at least once per row, the active needle separated from the line and dropped the loops. After the 3rd time I started repeatedly tightening the needle while I was working but it was annoying, I learned to knit with used knitting needles and loved them but this try it set is nothing short of a trap. for knitters too new to the craft to know any better.
