My cousin was about to throw away his PS4 controller because it was no longer holding a charge. He thought it was a cable and bought a new one to try. Luckily I got wind of it and tested it first. Its USB input was damaged because cables were clogged after the chip was bent. So I did a little research and found that this is exactly the charging socket for his particular controller. I've dabbled with Xbox controllers, so I didn't have much trouble opening the PS4 controller. Installed fairly quickly and started charging right away when plugged in. Shipping was pretty fast and I think I got his controller back to him in 3 days max. If necessary, I know where to get the right parts.
