This is a very bright projector with high (though not razor sharp) resolution and a wide range of inputs. It's very bright in moderately lit rooms and works well with the lights on. All functions are accessible both via the top and via the remote control (light for dark rooms). For presentations this is a great projector. However, you must use HDMI to display video as USB and VGI can't keep up, resulting in consistent frame rates (so I'm guessing around 12fps). Technically I'm not sure why as a USB or VGI monitor doesn't have these issues. I also noticed that the audio is significantly ahead of the video when connected via USB or VGI. The keystone control is digital rather than optical, with incremental zooming in and out rather than smooth panning, but the adjustments are precise enough to cope with the situation. I noticed a small amount of padding (edges of the image sticking out or protruding) that I haven't been able to correct completely. The image can also be zoomed in and out to fit different room sizes. The connections on the device cover most bases, but it doesn't have an HDMI pass-through (which isn't to be expected at this price point), and it's the lack of an audio-out jack that would be useful for connecting the device in some situations to a sound system. The small built-in speaker is understandably tinny and focused on slightly upper mids, but very clear and good enough for groups of a few dozen people. The device supports a USB stick for playing back image sequences. It does a good job, but it's obviously only for bare-bones presentations. One reviewer was very outraged that this projector couldn't play PPT presentations from a flash drive. That's because it's not a $649 computer, it's a $649 projector. By connecting your laptop, you can play any presentation you want. In terms of practical use, it is easy to set up. The sleep/wake mode can be controlled by sliding the integrated lens cover. It only takes a few seconds to cool down before shutting off, which comes in handy when the audience suddenly takes an active dislike to your presentation. Due to the high lumens, the device gets warm for obvious reasons, but not much more than a high-end laptop. If you drop it in the included case, make sure you insert and vent it with the lens. The included case includes an exterior pocket with little room for the included cables, a sewn-in shoulder strap, and a simple saddlebag flap, and is provided as a courtesy rather than a convenience case. If you're taking this device around town or on a trip and need to carry around a long cord or extension cord, you'll need a decent padded case with extra storage. Overall I'm happy with the projector and have used it in rooms ranging from 200 seats to a small living room. I travel about 500 miles in diameter and the projector is holding up very well. Street warriors would do the right thing by budgeting another $150 for a replacement bulb assembly. I'm deducting a star for USB aperture drop and less clear resolution, but I'm happy with the purchase.
