This suit is really very durable. Good material, zipper is reliable. Good weight for the Caribbean. I was arguing between three and four stars because the Kevlar knee pads are really frayed - they look like an afterthought. I've seen suits with very smooth, slick knee pads - they're sewn on with rough edges that seem to tear apart over time. They haven't come loose or caught anything yet, but I've only used them once while diving. And an active sport like surfing, where you might kneel a lot more, will definitely free those pillows. I think it comes in a padless version. This may be the best choice as once the pads start to loosen you are jeopardizing the integrity of the underlying tissues.
