I used to have fireplaces. Yes, we all had a giant octagon from Costco. This one isn't that big (it's a little over 30 but it's still a great size for collecting drinks or small plates) but it's beautiful, durable and looks great. There were instructions in the kit, I built everything myself. However, one piece of advice is that they tell you to attach your legs, but they don't tell you that they are different things. Since the top of the slate is padded on the soft carpet, turn it so the light switch is facing you. Attach a leg with a magnet to the right corner and a leg with two small protruding holes to the left corner. Not a big deal, but this treat would have saved me about 15 minutes. I built it, put in a propane tank and lit it up. I've read the comments here about staying unlit. Here's what I learned a long time ago with propane rims. UNLESS the lap is warm, it doesn't draw in propane as easily, so just hold the switch up and count to sixty. That's enough time to warm up the loop and you shouldn't have any problems after that. I am very satisfied with this product.
