You just can't cut this LED wire where you want it as instructed - when I did that the last 2 feet of the LEDs stopped working. I had to reduce it to the work area and connect it to the rest of the material to get it exactly where I wanted it lit. By the way, I use it indoors to light up the bay. There should be markings on the rope light where it's safe to cut, but there aren't any. Don't think you can just cut it anywhere. I suggest cutting it 2 feet longer than you want it to end, then see what's wrong and trim it off. Otherwise it looks like garbage to you, like my lighting in the bay, because of bad instructions. The website doesn't provide any support information or a phone number to call - just leave, email and wait. I finally figured out how to do splicing, but in my opinion it's not easy, very difficult.
