This is the coolest gadget. I have a toolbox full of spike finders, but they're not very accurate on metal spikes. The competitor's magnetic stud finder doesn't work either. The thing works great. I roll it against the wall and feel where each side of the metal pin is. It takes a little practice to get the feel of it, but once you get the hang of it, you'll realize it's a metal-spiked game changer. I've used it with wooden studs but it takes a little longer to find the screws. Personally, I'll stick with a regular deep wood stud finder. I will leave this gem for metal studs.
