There are many reviews for this clip. Yes, it's annoying, but it shouldn't do any harm. Work from the back of the braces where the teeth will be. I use a flathead screwdriver to get under the prongs and pry them up. I use pliers to straighten the teeth. to keep them in the air. Gently tease each carpet with your teeth. Lasts only a few seconds. No noticeable holes. No force is required. I am an elderly woman and got the mats out of the box and into my car in less than 10 minutes.
