Although this box looks good from afar, it has a few downsides. The hinges are crooked resulting in the box not closing straight or fully. Correcting the cover and attaching it to the top of the book did not help. Edges don't hold up well. I assume that they are optically only slightly glued. It's pretty easy to fix with wood glue, but who wants to re-glue it? So if you're looking for a kids project where a few mistakes won't matter too much then that's fine, but I don't recommend it if you expect it to look or hold up like an adult jewelry box.
