I've been using an old fashioned manual can opener for a long time. At the insistence of my wife (who cooks most of the time) I decided to give it a try. To be honest I was surprised how well it works. The first time I used it I thought I had done something wrong because it turned out the jar hadn't been opened. Didn't realize it opened the outside edge (I'm used to a manual opener opening the inside of the lid leaving a hard, sharp cut). Nice and clean, goes all the way through and then the lid just pops out. Love it.
