Review on 📺 Enhance Your TV Experience with the Hauppauge WinTV-quadHD PCI Express TV Tuner Card 1609 by David Olson

I bought this, installed it on a 3rd gen i5 computer, installed the windows drivers and my plex server was able to find it right away and made four tuners available for recording and viewing programs. Location, with antennas in the attic, I receive 98 channels, all with excellent picture and sound quality. I have previously installed a Hauppauge WinTV-dualHD USB dual tuner on the same computer I have installed and both Hauppauge devices work great together allowing me to use a total of six tuners with Plex. The only downside I've encountered (and knew it happens) is that when used with Plex, these tuners deliver MPEG2 data. Unfortunately, nothing I have can use this data format directly, so the files need to be transcoded to another format to be usable, e.g. BH264. So the choice is to either transcode the data on the fly while the program is being written, which requires a powerful CPU, or transcode after the program finishes, which requires MUCH less CPU (which is what I currently do). I am satisfied with this device and would buy it again.
