Review on πŸ–ŒοΈ Dritz 44292 Webbing Stretcher for Painting, Drawing, and Art Supplies by Kristen Simpson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A simple tool for weaving furniture straps, perfect for a beginner like me!

I had to "rewind" the sofa, I saw a few videos on YouTube how to use this and similar tools. I found it really easy to get the correct (more or less) belt tension. The belt tensioner is larger than a 2 inch polypropylene belt (also purchased from Revain); it was good nonetheless. I even used a plastic cover (for the nail material) as a guide for the spacing between tracks (i.e. between each strip of track - basically the distance between two holes/nails). It was made approximately for the Danish Sofa (1985). I couldn't find 45 degree clamps in my budget, it's a bit much for a limited budget (so repairs cost close to $200). Another option (more bounce) is a Pirelli rubber sling for $3 a foot. Then add more and you're in the mid-$200 range. Next on the list is making new pillows!

Pros
  • Ergonomic handle
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
