Apple slicer cuts nice slices. We first tried it on a green apple and because we were warned not to use it on green apples it was almost impossible to cut the apple. Now we only cut red apples and are completely satisfied with the apple cutter. However, it takes some muscle power to push the plane; We think the best way to cut an apple is not to keep pressing, but to take some hard jabs with a cutting board, and it works great.
