Wrong diameter stated otherwise ok

I bought this for a flashlight project I'm working on. I have a maximum inner diameter of 46mm. I actually canceled another order to order this one due to the shipping time. My mistake. This product is actually 50mm in diameter although the listing says it's 25mm which means I would have to take out a hacksaw to fit it and if I wanted to use a hacksaw I didn't have to specifically book a round , in order to do this. Otherwise it is functional. The board is pretty much empty which is great for low power projects. You will need an FTDI cable with the correct pinout to use the Arduino with it; I soldered a 6 pin ISP and it seems to be working fine. The built in LED is clearly as bright as possible so you might be able to see your display's regular blinking from orbit or something. It's not exactly useful to have an indicator LED that hurts to look at, but these guys didn't design it, they just cloned it. Including the lack of a polished pin 1 indicator on each connector, making identifying pin 1 AFTER the connector is soldered nearly impossible. For what it's worth, it appears to come with an Arduino bootloader and a 1 second LED blink sketch written on it. . 8MHz external clock, no clock divider, 2.7V disconnect detection, SPI/reset enabled, no watchdog, $3C00 load etc. etc. (fuses 0xFF 0xDA 0xFD). The listing dimensions are wrong and I honestly can't use them for my project so I don't have the resources PLUS the time to find and order the right part.

Pros
  • AV accessories
Cons
  • boring packaging
