Review on πŸ“» HARULU Scanner Antenna BNC Mount 4" Full Band Mobile Car Radio for Uniden & Motorola by Kenneth Murphy

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Reliable performance at a great price

I am very pleased to share my surprise at how well this cheap little antenna works (for me). Most of my monitoring is on 800MHz trunked systems and this little antenna works great for that band. I'm using a coax relay to switch between an 800MHz gain rooftop antenna and a built in bandpass filter to reduce cell tower interference. With this filter the radio ONLY receives between 700 - 860 MHz. If I want to check the weather section while traveling or listen to other bands, I flip a switch and the radio picks it all up. I tried another antenna on a piece of glass shit and it barely picked up the strong weather frequency. However, this little guy is very good at receiving the weather channel. Based on that, I suspect it will work satisfactorily everywhere. For those looking for RELIABLE 800MHz cellular reception and/or a discrete antenna, I recommend this HARULU antenna. I see others like it out there. You can be the same. You can not. My vote is for this brand. Also, I installed it on the windshield in front of the rearview mirror, and the cable is enough to snake under the headliner, along the side pillar, under the steering wheel to the coaxial relay hidden under the center console.
