Review on πŸ”€ Dorman Purge Solenoid Valve - 911-490 Vapor Canister by Brad Schillings

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Evaporator/vapor/canister purge valve solenoid fits Scion tC 2007!

This Dorman Evaporator Tank Purge Solenoid Valve Auto Part Works! I was concerned about this when I ordered this car evaporator flushing solenoid valve as I wasn't 100% sure if it was an auto part needed in my car or an evaporator solenoid valve that might be under my car to replace it and wasting money/time was possible to return this item. When I bought my used car the check engine light seemed to go on and off occasionally, it checked the coding for a year and when there was a problem just the same codes came out of the car. So I went to a YouTube video to see where it might be on my 2007 Scion tC and watched a video about the difference between two similar evaporator solenoids. The difference is in the vent solenoid on top of the hood and the vent solenoid under the car, where the vent is to reuse the gas air/vapor for the engine to increase gas mileage while the vent solenoid is for bad air vapor to exit the exhaust pipes on the back of the car. The exchange is therefore not urgently necessary, but an investment in the long term, except for petrol / continuous use in a car engine. So after its simple install, after a few days, he went to the nearest autozone and checked the wiring code, and nothing, it worked like a charm. Coding issues that have been on my ride for a few months to a year come and go on the check engine light. πŸ’‘ Gone and found no code issues, meaning this is a good/great car part if anyone needs it. The old gas cap was worn out. I wasn't sure if it was Iwap again; or a pipe leak from the engine compartment. I had to have it checked by a mechanic. it was EVAP. Did the job for $242 but guaranteed for a year if something goes wrong replacing the EVAP. It seemed like this Revain Dorman product was a bug or the Scion tCs were grossly working with them, especially with the CAI system already installed. So it only lasted a year, more or less, not many miles, even if only 15-20,000 highway miles were covered in that time. So I'm not sure if I had a broken defect that didn't last long or cheap quality and maybe my car model just doesn't handle it well. Just my review tip. It used to be 5 for me; Now only 3 stars because I'm not sure if it's a good thing that it only lasted about a year. /:
